    Hello All,

Is there a way to stop windows 2003 Server from logging off after inactivity. If I leave the computer for a few minutes, windows logs off and I am forced to press ctrl-alt-del to log in again and put my password in again, it is a royal pain in the as-. Thanks for any and all responses.

    I noticed that also.
I went into the screen saver and cleared the check box for password protect and it still did it.
Wasnt any big deal to me because in my situation it needs to remain locked anyway.

My bet would be you will find something in Administrative Tools\Local Security Policy.

Since that is not a normal Windows 2003 function, I would presume there is a GPO involved in the log off. I have several Win2k3 DC and I have remained logged in for several days at a time with a locked screen..
Run gpresults to find out what polcies are in place.

    Try this astone,

    Disabling the CTRL+ALT+DEL Prompt

Go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy. Browse to Local Policies -> Security Options.

On the right windows pane, scroll down until you find Interactive logon: Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL, double click and then select Enabled

That's not logging off: That's locking the workstation.

There's a default policy on the server to enable this functionality. It's generally recommended.

I will try to poke around today and see if I can find it. I think it's a good feature myself.
Probably would have saved a bunch of peoples jobs in the DOD! :D :D

    I could not find anything.
However I need to clairify that it is not logging off, it is only locking the console.

If you could, please capture the result of gpresult. GPResult is a program that will give you in plan English what polcies are set w/o you digging through each and every domain and local policy that may be set..
At the C prompt, just type gpresult
