 Well I did not think that I would need your help again so soon!
But here goes when I go to disc cleanup I can get reid of everything that is ticked APART from Web Client/Publisher Temp lthough it is ticked a as there is nearly 50MB in there I thought I would like to get it cleaned out. It is not that I need the space as I still have Free 58.9GB in C drive. Total on hard drive is 120GB within C/Boot 74.5 D/Backup free 67.5 from 68.6 E/Recovery free 2.02 free from 5.84
I am not sure what this file actually contains as when I put it in to search [Web Client/Publisher Temp] it does not come back with anything so am unable to establish what is actually in the file?
Thanks in anticipation of any help.

I got rid of that by shutting it off. Here's how. Right click My Computer and select Manage. Double click Services and Applications. Double click Services. Scroll down the list of services and double click Web Client. Click the stop button. Set the Startup type to Disabled. Click Apply and OK. Hope this helps.

If you want to take a better/easier look at drive contents, try AgentRansack. Lots faster and better than the search feature in Windows Explorer.

Since you just want to clean things up and then get back to using Web Client (at least I assume you do) you can do as lj50 suggested but rather than changing the startup to 'disabled' you can simply try to stop the service.

If that doesn't work (and some services can't be stopped that way) then setting it to disabled and rebooting will allow you to clean up the files. Then it's just a matter of setting it back to manual or automatic (whatever it is now). Disabling a service does nothing to it except not allow it to run while that setting is in effect.

A note - there are some services that are required for the PC to run properly. If you happen to disable one of those your PC might not start correctly but then It's just a matter of booting to the recovery console and changing the startup type. And Web Client is not one of the required items.

    Disc Cleanup

    Hi Newt
Thanks for the response and may I trouble you once more and ask you what the Web Client actualy is
As you saw by the size of the drive it is not that imperative but I do want to learn and do things right this time round.

    Thanks Karles

Not sure about it right off the top of my head. Sounds like an applet to push content from your PC to a web site. And I did find several references to the fact that it will never zero but will remain at about the size you noticed.
