I'm running XP and Netscape 7.1

I have 5 mail accounts that I'm importing. Previously when I entered Netscape mail my accounts were listed on the lwft side and all I had to do is click on the account name and click on "get messages" to get the mail. Now I lost the list of accounts and I can only access the default account.

    Welcome to the Forum, Bobangel!

    Hi Bobangel,

In order to get your Mail set up and running, we will need a bit more information.

From what program are you importing Mail?

    Thanks,

    Ramona :D

    Hi Bob,

Are you importing from a previous Version of Netscape, and which Version?

Have you set up your individual SMTP servers? Using 7.1 you can check in:
Edit | Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings | Account Name
Click on the Advanced tab to see if all SMTP servers are listed.

    Hi Bob,

For each of the accounts which do not show up in the Account column, check the "Local directory" path to ensure that it points to the correct Mail Account location.

Edit | Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings | Server Settings
Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the setting.

How did you copy Mail files from the previous 7.1 to the existing 7.1? Did you copy only the files without MSF extensions?

Did you create a new Profile, or are you using the same Profile?

    Thanks!

    Ramona :D

Hi Ramona, I set these profiles up using Netscape 7.0. I then upgraded to 7.1. As I said in my initial reply everything was working great until I lost the list of accounts that allowed me to pick which mail account I wanted to read without making it the default.

    All servers are listed

    C:\documents and settings\owner\application data\mozilla\profiles\default\1p7354wu.slt\mail\(server name) for each

After trying a couple of things, I guess the proper term for my problem was "lost the sidebar" in Netscape mail.

    Hi Bob,

So now are you saying that you have no left panel in the Mail Window? If that's the case, then look for the vertical "Grippy" and click on it, in order to open the left pane. See this Screen Shot of the grippy.

It could be that you inadvertently click the grippy, which closed the left pane.

Hi Ramona, sorry about the confusion, but didn't express mysef clearly. I clicked on the grippy and everything is back to normal. But I learned alot going through all the things you asked.

Thanks again & Happy new year

    Hi Bob,

Glad that it was so simple! I thought you really had a major Mail problem! ;)
