I've tried the old MSConfig and remove all startup items, which didn't seem to help.

It will close everything, then just sit there for about 5 minutes. If I try to open anything, it will say "This station is currently resetting" or something of the sort...

Any idea how to fix this?

.. It will close everything ..

Probably it is closing almost everything but having to struggle to close one (or two) running processes.

Check your event logs for mention of likely suspects. If nothing shows up there, start task manager~processes tab sorted by CPU utilization and set it to always on top. That may allow you to see the guilty party.

If you haven't done so very recently, I'd also suggest dumping your temp internet files then downloading, updating, and then running Ad-aware and then spybot. Let both of them delete what they find.

Well, I think I may have found a possibility:

"Windows cannot unload your classes registry file - it is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded when it is no longer in use. "

    Followed one second later by:

"Windows saved user PRESARIODR\Neutropia registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use. "

    Could that be the culprit?
