    Hi! My Mom is having a problem getting on the web with her Juno software. Every tme we sign on we get a message that "this page can not be found ". We are connected just can't access the home page or any other page.

    If I click on a "link" in an e-mail while connected, then a new window comes up and we can surf.

    Does anyone know how I can get Juno and IE to communicate? Or, if i'm wrong, what the problem might be?

    Thanks

    Don't know much about Juno. Heres some info extracted from another thread.

    ==============================================
    In Juno 5.0, can I use my own browser instead of Juno's Web browser?
    You can surf the Web with another browser instead of Juno's Web browser in the Web screen. After you connect to the Web through Juno, just open your other browser. This browser will use your Juno connection. You can also specify which browser Juno should use when you click links in messages or in ads.

    To set the browser that opens links:

    On the Options menu, click Web Preferences.

    In the Juno Web Preferences dialog box, under Web Browser Settings, select the Open links in messages with Juno's Web browser check box to use Juno's Web browser. To use the browser you've set as your default browser, clear this check box.
    Click OK.
    =================================
    so uncheck juno then open an IE on its toolbar go > tools internet options > programs
    and hit the reset web settings button and place a check next to [X] internet explorer should etc etc default browser
    then apply and OK

    Click here to download the (their)Connection Wizard.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Dave,

    I have ben working with Juno support for about two weeks without success. This is baffling. I checked all the IE settings and they even had me disable the firewall and antivirus. Nothing has helped.

    My thought is that it is a corrupt file that talks from Juno to IE since both appear to be working, just not together. I have even reinstalled Juno and tried to reinstall IE. Can't jind it to uninstall it. It is IE 6 which my Mom downloaded from the Microsoft site.

    I will check the browser settings with the information you have provided and see if that helps.

    Thanks,

    I've sure been posting this a lot lately. Must be some new nasties out there grabbing onto computers.

    At any rate, download and run either LSPFix or WinsockXPFix, depending on the operating system, and run it on the affected machine. It's fixing the problem about 80% of the time.

    You said you have checked all IE settings. Does that include on connection tab making sure Juno connection is set as default, and checked to 'always dial default'?
    And you are "unable to uninstall IE6 which was downloaded." What OS is being used? And could you click on help>about IE and provide information there please?

    Sorry Dave,

    I need a new Keyboard. Some of the letters aren't typing without extra effort.

    Checking "Never dial a connection" means that Internet Explorer will not attempt to dial up when it's opened. Checking "

    What noahdfear is wanting is the version of Internet Explorer you have. The version numbers are listed in the window you get when you click on Internet Explorer's "Help" and then "About. "

    Also, is the computer using Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP Home or XP Professional?

    Hi PDaret,

    Do this without being connected.

    Start Internet Explorer.
    On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Programs tab.
    Select the Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser check box, if it isn't already selected.
    Click OK and close Internet Explorer.
    Start Internet Explorer again. If you get a message asking if you want to set Internet Explorer as the default, click Yes.

    Now on the tools>IE>connection tab, select 'always dial default'
    Apply, OK to close.
    Close IE.
    Now reopen IE. It should start dialing (if set to auto-dial) or bring up the dialup connection box.

    If it still doesn't work, here is some further info.

    Try the IE repair tool. Start>programs>accessories>system tools>system information>tools.

    You may be able to start the Internet Explorer Repair tool from a command prompt. To do so, click Start, click Run, and then in the Open box, type the following command, and then click OK:
    rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINDOWS\IE Uninstall Log.Txt"

    NOTE: This command is case sensitive.

    To remove IE6;
    Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
    On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Tools in the list of installed programs, and then click Add/Remove.

    NOTE: Internet Explorer is not listed in the Add/Remove Programs tool if you delete the uninstall (or backup) information for the previous version of Internet Explorer.

    If Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Tools is missing from the list of installed programs and you did not delete the uninstall information run Setup.exe from your Internet Explorer\Setup folder.

    Click Restore the previous Windows configuration (or click Advanced to specify any additional components you want to remove), and then click OK.
    The Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Tools Setup dialog box appears. This portion of Setup is referred to as Maintenance mode. When Setup starts, click OK to restore the previous version of Internet Explorer and shared components.
    You are prompted to verify that you want to restore the previous version. Click Yes to start the uninstallation process. When the uninstallation process finishes, click Restart Windows when you are prompted to do so.
