    Here is exactly what happened:

I needed to clean my cpu fan, getting dusty.

I shut down windows, computer is now off. I also shut the switch off at the back of the computer (power supply).

I open up my case, take the CPU fan out and clean it with a can of air.

I put the fan back in, turn the power supply back on, turn the computer on, and no display is shown on my monitor...nor is my optical mouse lighting up or my keyboard indicating that it is on.

I make sure everything is connected properly, no loose wires or loose video card is found.

I also plugged in my 2nd computer and it worked fine, so I know it's not the monitor or the mouse/keyboard.

    Does anyone have any ideas??

The CPU fan, chassis fan, both HDD's, CD-rom's and video card fan are all working fine when I turn the computer on...just no display on the monitor, and no power to the mouse or keyboard.

Could this be a motherboard issue?? possible I could have fried it somehow? I don't see how since I just removed the cpu fan and cleaned it.

I wouldn't think anything was broken (touch wood) if you were careful (too much pressure on the processor chip or the motherboard can break them). Were you careful with your antistatics?
Try reseating all the connections, then the RAM sticks. The motherboard may have moved on the standout pins.

Could "clear the CMOS ". See your motherboard manual.

After that I would pull out and reseat the CPU (check for any bent pins). You will need to replace the thermal grease. See here:

    Luck

yes the fan was plugged back in :p

yes what happened was that I must've pulled the CPU loose when I took the fan out because after re-connecting the cpu and fan it seemed to work fine again.

phew I was afraid i cracked those weak AMD chips :)

    thanks for the help matt.
