I would like to play DVDs when I get my Norcent DVD player, and see them on my comp monitor. I called Dell and they said that I didn't have a video card, but run/dxdiag said that I do have an Intel 82845 G graphics card. Is this a video card or not? The same card is identified in Device Manager/Display Adapter. Will this allow me to watch DVDs? I'd rather not shell out the moolah if I don't have to.

My next question would be, if I am all set as far as video cards are concerned, do I need any special cables or converters? Thanks.

Are you trying to directly hook a home DVD player to a computer monitor?

Ray, thanks for replying, but after realizing that I'd need a good $80 for a video card that could do the job, I decided to shell out a little extra for a color tv much larger than my monitor. I'd need the tv eventually, anyways. At this point, my question is moot. Regardless, thanks for replying.
