HI I need help cleaning out this computer which every now and then keeps changing the homepage on its own even when the internet isn't accessed. Then there are things that keep asking to download when I view my usual sites and it never has done it before until a week ago. I have run Ad-Aware and SPybot and I updated SPybot and gotten rid of what was found on both programs but the problem still continues.
Another problem on this computer is that it's running a little slower than it should and there are programs running in the background that I want to turn off but I dont know how. Can anyone help me? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Happy Holidays.

This is a great start up tool. It puts a tab in your Control Panel so that you can decide what you want to run when the computer boots. If your homepage won't stay with your settings, you may have a hijack problem. Do a search on the Board for Hijack, and you will find a ton of information. Post back if you need more detail.

    Happy holidays!

You have to install it after you download it. Find where you saved StartupCPL.zip and extract all files, show them, and double click on the exe file. Follow the instructions, and reboot. Post back if you have any trouble.

Change your control panel to list, not the broad catagories in the blue field and look for "start up ". (On the left of the screen is where you select how you want to view the Control Panel)

As it says at the top of any new post you make, please follow the Posting Rules.

#3 - Meaningful Subject - Please use a subject of a few words describing your question/problem. "Need Help!!!!" is not meaningful, and a lot of people won't even read your post in the first place!
