    Gojo welcome to Windows BSS

search for VX2.DLL ,first hit,, possible adware

Have you scanned with Adaware or SpyBot,, anti spyware tutilitys
Most of us use them both ,be sure after installing to update before every scan as they have to write new referance files often.
    (both free)
Let us know if you have any questions

You were spot on it was spyware which was detected by the adware remover program I had on my PC unfortunately I had not registered it so it would not remove it, I could not register it as I could not connect to the internet because of the vx2 error So I went to regedt and searched for vxt.dll found it in 2 places and modifyed them. All seems to be ok.

Next step is install adware remover programs

    Thanks again

I have the same problem. Can you tell me how you fixed it exactly? Would be most appreciated.

    SuthernBoy welcome to Windows BBS

    Hello
Most of us here have both Adaware and SpyBot,, anti spyware programs.. Adaware has a free version and SpyBot is no nag (please contribute-ware)
the links are in my signature,, be sure to always check for updates before performing a scan,, because they are continuously
having to update there reference files.

The spyware detection program I had was called adaware Gold without registration it found everything but would not repair them. I am unsure if it was free to register as I am now using the 2 you recomend. Thanks again

    Suthernboy

Type regedit in the run window then in the edit dropdown find vx2.dll Highlight the file and go to edit,Modify then just delete vx2.dll from the line. It worked for me I have had no problems since.

Don Pm's me so I will put it here hopefully we will find a solution
    for both of you
SuthernBoy were you unable to get on the Internet also ?

    Don and SuthernBoy
BHO demon might help..rather than editing the registry.. I don't like recommending a regedit unless a person is versed in backing up and restoring ,editing already.

Its a small tool and will fit on a floppy,,rather old but lots of us still use it from time to time
    http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm

more info on VX2.DLL BHO if in fact thats what it is..
    http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/Transponder.html

So with bho demon disable vx2 and any variant's you see on this page,, again its not necessary to edit the registry,(unless your sure of yourself and back it up first), once you can install Adaware and SpyBot they will cleanup the left overs

    Let us know what happens

Usual cause for not ever hearing back is that your fix worked and the user forgot or couldn't be bothered to post back and say so.

Second most usual cause is the user's problem got worse and he/she couldn't post back.

Thanks for the info on SpyBot. I was able to get it and ran it and everything came out ok when I deleted the entries about VX2.dll. Thanks a million!
