After reformat, reinstall, and everything else. I imported my saved favorites from a floppy.

Now when I get my list of favorites and scroll down they highlight themselves in blue and the text becomes unreadable.

    Any ideas??

It sounds like you have to change either your "selected items" colors or else change the color of the menu text. Right click on the desktop and choose properties. On the appearance tab look for the items box. Choosing selected items will allow you to change the color of an item when you select it. This will change the color of the highlighting when you point your cursor at one of the favorites. Choosing menu in the items box will allow you to change the color of the text in the menu. I'm just guessing that the colors you're using right now are too close to the same and it makes it difficult to read them.

After reading your post again I should add that when you look at the selected item color also check to see what the color is for the selected item text. Sounds as if it's these two you need to check and not the menu text color.

I grabbed a still of what is happening and posted in my briefcase at yahoo in the folder called screenshots.

It is just a word doc that is not quite 1.5 megs.

If anyone wants to take a look, go ahead.

    I checked the screenshot you provided and in an effort to try and help you figure out whats causing this I have a few questions;

Do all of your menus in Internet Explorer, i.e. File, Edit, etc., display this problem, or just the Favorites menu?

Does this problem occur in other program menus, i.e. Windows Explorer, Word, etc?

Did you notice whether or not the problem was occuring prior to pulling your Favorites off the floppy?

Does the disk you imported from still contain a copy of your favorites?

    Hi,

Thanks for taking a look. It is just favorites. BTW I forgot, it even does from the desktop it does it as well. This problem has not shown up anywhere else.

None of the utilities I have has given up anything useful. As far as they are concerned, all is well. It is just an annoyance to me.

    Thanks,

    Ty

Does the disk you imported from still contain a copy of your favorities?

Did you use the export feature in IE, or did you just copy the Favorites Folder to the disk, prior to formatting?

Have you tried deleteing the current favorites and importing them again? To do this open Windows Explorer, navigate to your Favorites folders, delete the current favorites, and then go through the import process again.

    :)
