Failing hard drive. We're ok on fitting a new drive but we only have the 'tiny' computers restore CD - i.e. no proper copy of windows me. Does restore CD have a proper copy of windows me on it (computer bought 2001)? Can't copy from old hard drive as major corruption. Can't get a straight answer in shop about what's on the restore CD. Any ideas gratefully received please???

What brand pc are we talking about? Almost all brands (Compaq, HP, Dell) come with some type of restore cd. The restore cd returns your computer to the way it was when you first bought it. In other words, windows ME will be installed, along with th eoriginal pre-packaged software that the computer manufacturer installed. Does this help you?

The brand is Tiny now taken over by Time Computers. We did use the rescue disk with the existing hard drive but, with the failing drive, this didn't help much. Do you mean that a full copy of windows me will install from the rescue disk onto a brand new blank hard drive? Many thanks for the swift reply.
