    Hi,

I'm running Win NT SP 6.

When I start up my machine and hit the desktop,I get a message saying "preparing Installer "

However nothing is installed and the machine seems to carry on running OK.It is annoying though, where could this be starting up from?I get it everytime I start.

    Thanks,

    Babaton

It may be a problem with the installer itself. Take a look Here and follow the steps to Re-Register Windows Installer.

You might try this: open the event viewer and see if any errors are reported. If there is an error: copy and paste it into help and see what it says.
