    HI All,

Can anyone help with this problem? I have two jpeg, and one gif, files which are stopping Qimage from working, I get amessage that Qimage cannot open ..... .jpeg, or Qimage cannot open . . . .gif, and this prevents most of the other images in that folder from opening. I am using Windows XP.

Photoshop has no problem opening these files, but I decided to delete them as they aren't too important.
Using Explorer, or Photoshop, I try to delete these three files and get the message that they can't be deleted because they are corrupt. I am sure that I am missing something stupid, but how can I delete a corrupt file? Surely that is the kind of file that should be deleted!

Have you tried deleting in Safe Mode? Alternatively rename them, move them elsewhere. Unlikely that they are corrupt if PS opens them - try a Save As in PS and rename them.

    Pete C,

Thanks for the advice. I fixed the problem with chkdisk, which fixed 3 file errors at least. That surprised me because Photoshop had no problems at all with the 'corrupt' files. The fix also deleted two .gif images from the folder and I don't know why!
