best graphic design cad/cam freeware

    I have been asked to do some basic 2d and maybe 3d graphic design and have not been involved in that expertise for over ten years and am wondering if someone can save me hours of research and clue me in to a good package that is easy to use and hopefully freeware...

    thanx Abraxas, saved me a lot of time -- but now, of the freeware packages on Freebyte, I am wondering if you have any input on which might be the easiest to get up to speed with quickly ?

    EDIT: 2d would likely suffice for now, but if any of the 3d packages are as easy to use, might want to go with that for potential future needs...
