Ive just put Nero (5 i think) on my pc after falling out with Easy cd. I uninstalled everything Roxio/Adaptec/Easy CD that i could find before i put nero on.

I have an artec 48x12x48 drive and nero wont pick it up as a writer. The only writing device is its virtual device that writes a cd image file to a hard drive.

Does anyone know how i could get nero to pick it up? The webpage for both artec and nero says the drive is supported.

    Im on win2kSP4

Have you upgraded Nero 5 from the Ahead website to 5.5.10.54. the latest version of Nero 5?

Most upgrades are to give support to new drives as they come out - I suspect your version of Nero 5 predates your burner.

If you reinstall Nero over top, during the process, you should be prompted to select a burner.
Instead of choosing it's default, scroll down the list and select a "Bundled" version, under the same manufacturer as yours.
    This usually works.
