    Hello all!

I installed HDD Health 2.1 Beta Build 159 by PanteraSoft.

On the "Brief Info" page there is no temperature indication but on the "Extended Info" page it says that my HDD is at 240519544871 °C.

Do I need to worry ...... ...... or is this a bug in the latest beta-version ...... ...... ?

    Hi Christer,

Sounds like a bug to me, although I have the same version and all is well with it. 33 degrees and 34 degrees on my drives on both tabs. Maybe install a fresh download.

 Is the temp you're getting even possible?

 couldn't figure out how to make a degrees symbol on this keyboard

    Well lets see here.

Core solar temperature (hottest part) is 14,999,982.2ºC

Your CPU temp is 240,519,544,871°C so around 16,000 times hotter than the center of the sun.

My guess is if your PC hasn't gone Nova and totally melted the earth by now, it's probably a bug.

    Hi noahdfear!

In BIOS it reads approximately 40 °C so I concluded that it must be a bug.

I did the "°C" in Word (insert symbol) and copy/paste.

    Newt,
not the CPU, the HDD which makes it even worse ...... :D ...... I mean, 240,519,544,871°C and not even smelling ...... ......

Sorry guys, I just couldn´t resist it ...... ......

    Christer

    Edited:

Well, it´s late (or early) here in Sweden, 2:10 AM and that´s my excuse for mixing up CPU temp in BIOS with HDD temp (which is not in BIOS).

    Nighty ......

    Thanks for the tip Christer!

Since we're on the topic of HDD Health, can anyone explain to me (1000 words or less) what it means when I get a popup saying 'raw read rate changes from 62 to 63', and other values in that proximity?

noahdfear - sorry but unless it's dealing with a porno site, 'raw read' doesn't ring any bells. :D

To get a º symbol, hold down the Alt key and type in 0186 from the number pad then release the Alt key.

Lots more you can do the same with. Just start~run~charmap and take a look. £ ¼ ² ¾ ¢ ³ and a bunch of others.

noahdfear: "Raw Read Rate is something that S.M.A.R.T. technology monitors for on your hard drive if you have it enabled.

You should be able get a readout of S.M.A.R.T. values from AIDA32 under Storage>SMART. Don't really know what it all means but is fun to look at.

There, an answer in less than 1000 words.:D

If you don't have AIDA32 you can d/l from Here

    Thanks for the tips Newt!

Thank you JohnB. Have AIDA32 and have seen it there too, but like you, have fun looking at what I don't understand but would like to.

I uninstalled HDD Health 2.1 Beta Build 159 and installed HDD Health 2.0 Final Release Build 151.

Neither does this version display a reasonable HDD temperature and I´m beginning to think that my mainboard, HDD or whatever isn´t compatible.

    AIDA32, under storage / smart, reads - 0 - 127 - 127 - 21 , 43 - whatever that means.
