Hello all, I really don't mean this as a Poll but that's probably what its going to be. I keep going back & forth between OE 6 & Outlook 2000. I do like using Word as my E-Mail editor but I don't know how to use it with OE6. Can someone help me with that?
    Thank You & Happy Holidays!

I've not used Word as an email editor, but at a glance it would seem that you hit the email button in Word and up pops something not unlike the OE New Message box. Write the email and click 'send a copy'.

My guess is that under Tools > Internet options > Programs in IE you need to set OE as the default email program.

I only have OE on my m/c, so don't know what other problems may arise if Outlook is also present.

Paul, I have Word 2000 and OE5.5. OE is set as the default e-mail program. I just tried to send a document edited in Word to myself and it worked fine. Used the File>SendTo>Mail Recipient function on the File menu of Word 2000. It brought up an e-mail blank and I proceeded from there.

The other option is to send the Word doc. as an attachement on the same drop down menu.

Should work the same in OE6.0.

Works fine for me too - as I posted with OE 6, XP Pro, Word 2000.

Am I missing something (obvious) here ??

I have Office XP loaded at home (so Outlook is on the system). I normally use OE but Outlook is set up and functional.

I just checked and I have the usual Outlook option to use word as the mail editor which I do. OE shows no such option nor does it behave as if it has any idea Word is on the PC.

If your friend has managed to somehow make word work with his/her OE, I'd love to hear how because I wouldn't mind doing the same thing myself.
