I am experiencing Activex error #429, quite often.
I believe I inadvertently removed some .OCX files.
Is it possible to remove all ActiveX files and references, and
    reload fresh.?

    Thanks

    Hi

please quote the whole error and what you were doing at the time,, with IE open or elsewhere ,like in help and support ?
what version of IE do you have ?

"I believe I inadvertently removed some .OCX files. "
    from where ?
"Is it possible to remove all ActiveX files and references, and
    reload fresh.? "
sort of,, on IE's toolbar ,tools , Internet options ,settings, view objects,, right click on each and choose remove,,, you will be prompted again when they are needed,
if theres an associated program it would need "sometimes" to be uninstalled through add-remove programs

Lots of hit for "Activex error #429" on google

    I use w/98SE
    IE 6.0.
ActiveX error #429 unable to create object.
    Not Online.
It happens in a few of the programs I have downloaded.
I was always able to work OK, but like I said I think I removed
    some .OCX files by mistake.
Reloading the software does not reload the .OCX files I need.
Does Windows not load an ActiveX file along with the w/98SE
    software.

    Thanks

I don't know where from or how I removed the .OCX files.
I believe I was cleaning out some old DLL's with a program I have.
Is there a file that will show what VBRun6.0 consists of.
The reason I am asking, is On the site you gave me, I down loaded a potential fix file but when I click on it I get a message
"VBRun60 cannot be found on this system.
I know it is in there, because I downloaded it.
I am not having any success locating it with the find function.

what was the potential fix ?

Have you already installed this again ?
I any program reports it cant run, and report's that a file named "msvbvm60.dll" is missing?
downloading the following MS run-time installer will install the missing file
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60pro/Redist/sp5/WIN98Me/EN-US/vbrun60sp5.exe

    Found here http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
    vbrun60sp5.exe contains
    advpack.dll
    asycfilt.dll
    comcat.dll
    msvbvm60.dll
    oleaut32.dll
    olepro32.dll
    w95inf16.dll
    w95inf32.dll
    vbrun60.inf
    stdole2.tlb

    You are being most helpful.
I downloaded (again) the VBRun60 program from MS this pm.
when I checked for the files per your last reply, 3 of the files are
    missing. vbrun60.inf
    olepro.dll
    oleaut.dll
For some reason the download is not working.

I have Vbrun60SP5 installed, and do not have a Vbrun60.Inf file, and everything works fine.
The C:\Windows\System\Olepro32.Dll and C:\Windows\System\Oleaut32.Dll files have been updated since the Vbrun60SP5 was released, if/when you updated Internet Explorer. If these two files are missing, you should be getting error messages upon bootup.
I have no files named Olepro.Dll or Oleaut.Dll, perhaps a typo and you meant the files I mentioned above?

Do you have the file C:\Windows\System\Msvbvm60.Dll? If you do, the download did work.
What VB programs are you trying to run? Error #429 seems to pop up in various third party programs. In short, it may not be your system after all, but faulty coding.

Thanks for that. I do have the 32 files.
I received the contents of the VBRun60 file from Lonny, and was
    stating the files he mentioned.
I have removed all the programs, that were giving me the 429 errors. I am going to reload them one at a time to see if I can clear this mess up

    Thanks
