Sever 2000 many services running..help

hello to all of you guys, please if some one has same good links or know which services I should or should not be running on my server 2000 with 10 clients all windows 2000 professional, we just got a virus on the server which does not make sense because no one gets email on the server and we have Norton corporate edition, plus Symantec 100 firewall but nothing seen to help so my last resources will be shutting down same services but am not sure witch one...thanks for any help here....

Go to http://www.blackviper.com. There's an excellent guide to Win2K services and advice on which ones can safely be disabled.

 

If the server is infected with your setup, take a good look at all the workstations.

Are you up to date on the server security patches? At a minimum, the fairly recent ones you need are
KB 832182, 832980, 824141, 824146, 825119, 826 232, 828035
