a friend of mine in germany has attracted a trojan, (bat.trojan she said) and i was trying to get her to do a Trend housecall only it took forever like hours and she lost patience and shut it down??
i went through turning off system restore, but i cant remember if she has to disable her norton anti virus?
have talked her through install and setup of zone alarm, but still need to remove trojan.
also i beleive i should tell her to install adaware.

many thanks for any help =)

I would get her to go to Online Trojan Scan. Then find out the name of the trojan.
In the meantime, have her find and delete any files named BAT.Trojan.Tally or BAT.Trojan.DeltreeY. The first one will move all the files out of the windows folder into another folder, rendering windows unbootable, the second one deletes all files on the drive, giving her a "Non System Disk" error as there will be nothing there to boot up from.

The compressed file crack.bat within C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-746137067-1482476501-839522115-1003\Dc138.exe is infected with the BAT.Trojan virus.

do you think TDS - 3 will remove this.

I don't knpw whether it will specifically, try it. Won't cost anything, you have 30 days to try it out.

Assuming your friend is running XP:

To turn off System Restore -

Right click on My Computer icon > Properties > System Restore tab > Turn off System Restore on all drives.

Yes. When you untick the box, all points will be deleted (or should be) You could reboot the comp (I always do) then retick the box again so that your system starts making them again.
