Since I upgraded from Win98 to 2000 I have been unable to activate the local host (127.0.0.1) on my PC. PWS seems to be loaded but I get an error message "Error connecting to {computer name given during setup}. Unexpected error 0x800744002." when I try any IIS management.

    Any help much appreciated.

Go to Services in your Administrative Tools and make sure IIS Admin Service and World Wide Web Publishing Service are both started. If you don't see these you'll have to install IIS through Add/Remove Programs then Add/Remove Windows Components.

Sorry my last reply was too hurried. The WWWPublishing Service threw up the following error message: "error 1008: an attempt was made to reference a token that does not exist ".
