If that measn that you went to Microsoft and downloaded/installed MS IE6 and you are actually running AOL then you * MAY HAVE * problems that neither one will fix.

    A possibility that I am thinking of;

Seing the words fixit from aol we * may have * messed up by sending you to Microsoft. The two ARE NOT compatable.

To me that firmly says you are running AOL. And all ( I think ) fixes need come from AOL. Not MS.

    A possibility only

You may need to uninstall AOL and start fresh with a new version.

    Or just re-install AOL.

I am sort of confused now as I think Ideas need to come for AOL users. Not MS users.

Beside running Spybot, I would also:
Go Start>Run, type: MSCONFIG, go to Startup tab.
Compare all checked items with a list from HERE
You may have too many unnecessary programs running in a background.

Click on a link from my reply (blue HERE), and it will tell you what each entry is for, and if you need it to be running in a background.

The only thing that I see in the bunch that need to be running is RNAAPP. That is part of Dial-Up Networking.

InCD is part of Nero CD writing Software. But it does not need to be running full time. Start it when you need it ans shut it dpen when done with it.

Do a Start~run and type SYSEDIT and uncheck some of those things.

If systr is actually SYSTRAY do not shut it down.

I would be willing to bet that a lot of the other stuff is stuff that AOL but in.

This is what MANY ISP softwares do. They put in a lot of stuff that is not needed.

BTW. I am in New York and it is COLD, Snowing AND Windy here. It looks like we got a least 1ft of that nasty white stuff. 40 years ago I would have loved to play in it with the kids. BUT NOT NOW

You definitely need SpyBot Search & Destroy, as you have Gator running on your system. It is one of the nastiest spyware programs out there, though there are worse. I didn't look up the rest but know those files in bold right off the bat.
This Gator causes a bunch of problems.
When you get Spybot, do the update first, then do the Scan for Problems, remove everything already checked off for you. If it asks to be run at next boot, allow it.
