    I used the same pop-up blocker as you have for quite a while. When google added a pop-up blocker to their toolbar I tried it and after a week or so, got rid of the others I had used.

    With Messenger Service turned off and the google toolbar installed you should see few, if any, pop-ups.

    I use the google toolbar too. I would guess I've been using the version with the popup blocker for about 2 months now. Since installing it I've had one popup get through. Can't get much better than that!

    Mir,
    If you are getting Pop ups in IE, and they are that upsetting, you have a lot of choices in third party software to block them. I believe a search on the BBS for endorsements or problems with pop up stoppers would help you decide which one was right for you. If that pop up showed up on your desktop, then review the steps for disabling Messenger posted earlier. Good luck.

    MIR11 - it may be that your pop-up blocker is working too well. The normal response when you click one of those is a pop-up window at the top with a line for putting in the text you want and then the vB applet puts the proper codes around it.

    You can do the same thing manually though if you want to do a little typing.

    Put the code shown below at beginning and end of the bit you want to modify. I've put in spaces so it will show you the text but you'll want the same only without the spaces. All have an opening set of code to tell the forum what you want and a closing set to tell it to stop.

    Bold = [ b ] type in the stuff you want bolded [ / b ]
    Italic = [ i ] type stuff [ / i ]
    Underline = [ u ] type more stuff [ / u ]
    Color = [ C O L O R = red ]type still more stuff [ / C O L O R ]
    Size (use 2, 3, 4) = [ S I Z E = 4 ] type it [ / S I Z E ]

    You can also combine them as long as you maintain the same order. For instance

    [ b ] [ i ] will give you bolded and italics [ / i ] [ / b ]

    So it's possible to make a message that looks like the one below. COLOR = blue for this one and SIZE = 4
