Been using incredimail as my primary email client for long time but due to problems had to uninstall and re-install recently. Problem now is that each time I click onto NEW MAIL to compose message the programme exits. Have tried to get into new mail through the menu also but with same result. Incredimail support not good with advice this problem so any advice much appreciated.

I have used IM also but am now in the process of transferring all my e-mails out of it as I really do not like the instability of the program. Not only this but I really believe that there are more security issues with this e-mail client than I was first aware of.

They are supposedly releasing a new 'more stable' version but even at this I am still making sure I have it uninstalled from my PC. One word of warning - any e-mail contacts you have made when using IM are not exported as a CSV file when you try to use another client - I have found out it was only the addresses I created in Outlook that are exported - you have to manually type any in IM.

The software has become so unstable there are a lot of users now re-considering. I agree that the support porvided leaves a lot to be desired - I think they should have concentrated on IM before trying the Incredidate which really made me glad I decided not to use IM as I do not consider this anywhere near professional.

Pocomail is full of features and a lot more secure than IM plus they have forum for support. You are not alone with IM not working and are left without help from IM itself !! When I was composing a new mail it vanished to the task bar!!
Sorry I cannot be of help with the solution as I have given up on finding any for IM except 'uninstall'.

    Hi MiniB
Very many thanks for your advice and info. I had already uninstalled and will now not return in view your comments. Have got Poco covering another email address I have always been highly satisfied with it, I only used IM on another email i/d because I liked the facility to put my company headings etc as a letterhead on the email.
Think I have tried the lot now - quite like Calypso/Courier and Pegasus but as you say Poco takes some beating.
    Thanks again.

Hi, I am pleased that you feel the same way about Pocomail as I do. I have not tried as many as you have but our UK PC magazines have rated Pocomail above all the e-mail clients they tested and this was I I discovered it. I am still getting used to it and all the features but it really is a much superior client to the 'spying, security issues' IM

The only reason it is still on my PC is so that I can move my e-mails day by day!! After this it will be gone for good ;)

    Hello again miniB..
I am in UK too. Maybe you can help me our with another difficulty I am having with PocoMail. Have been trying to download some alternative skins but find the instructions given on the download website really confusing. I cannot understand what to do when I get to the bit that says.... 'Save to your pocomail/skins directory, unzip to your own directory and......... any chance of an 'idot proof' explanation of this ? You can use my listed email i/d if you prefer.
    Regards

    Hi

Sorry for only getting back to this now but I have had major e-mail server problems (not with Pocomail but with my provider)
I have only ever used the skins provided as I am very new to Pocomail. Have you been to their forum ? It is very useful for advice and they have a section for 'skins' alone. You will see the link on the Pocomail main site to the forum. I will have a look later to see if I can find the answer for you but you may wish to browse the forum and see how much is there.

I will most likely be taking more notice of the alternative skins when I ahve used the client more. HTH please post back if now as I will get my links now as I have a working e-mail addie
    ;)

    Hello again

Just read your post again without goint to the forum (was rushing about before) I think I can help here as all it is asking you to let it know where you would like to unzip the files to.
If you look in you Poco setup directory you will see a folder called 'skins' this will be where the default skins are and this will be the directory to select if you want to use the skin from PM itself.

When you choose to 'skin' Poco with the new skin it will look in this folder for the skin - select and apply.

You may wish to create another folder (separately from the one in PM) you can call it what ever you like and then tell your unzip program to place the files in there. You will then have to tel PM where to find the skin you wish to apply.

If the skin is one of PM's own then I would opt to place it in the folder already created when Poco was installed.

If you installed it to 'C' then use Windows Exp. Documents and settings - your name - application data - then Pocomail - you will then see all the folders ie one for smilies etc this is what they mean by the directory.

I would scan the download with your AV and then select to unzip to PM's skin folder or if you have created another then select this folder. If you unzip to PM's skin folder then that would be a lot easier.

Hope this makes sense (if not post back) Check your PM's
