I have 5 PCs in a small LAN. I need to restrict the users of two of these PCs from connecting to internet During 9:00 to 14:00.

Is there any settings/software which can do this task on a WinXp pro?

The connection to internet is a ADSL via a router.

thanks for any kind of help

3rd party tools that will do what you want.

With a small, workgroup style network, I don't really know of any way to do the deed automatically with any native XP tools.

You can just restrict their access to any online programs. You right click the program and click Run As and then make it so only someone like an admin can run it. Then they can't go online. Plus you can limit their accounts.

shadowhawk - I agree you can certainly do those things but if he only wants to restrict them from the net at certain times, it would mean him making changes every day I think.

There is possibly some native way to do what he wants in a workgroup enviornment but I can't think of any and I'm assuming the 'small LAN' indicates a workgroup setup rather than a domain where you could do the deed without 3rd party stuff.

    Hi Newt and ShadowHawk,

I appreciate all your help. As Newt has guessed, it's a workgroup and not a domain. MoreOver, I don't want to restrict the users from running IE or OE. It's only the fact that I have to restrict them in a specific time ( 9 - 14 ).

I bought ENUFF PC from the link Newt posted.

One more time many many thanks to both of you.
