Yeah, sounds really weird I know. After being idle for a few minutes this 2000 server machine will reboot itself if the mouse if moved. This happens intermittently. Immediately after windows has loaded it works fine, but after you leave it alone and come back it then reboots. This will happen for an hour or so and then after several reboots it works again. This is the strangest "feature" of windows I've ever seen. Any input, ideas or anti-windows rants would be appreciated.

What mouse connection and what specific mouse?

New problem or just one you've been living with since day 1?

Just a regular run of the mill PS2 mouse with a scroll wheel. The rebooting thing just started happening on Monday, mouse works fine on another machine.

My first guess would be a driver issue.

If the device has specific drivers, download a fresh set.

If not, make sure the Win2K ones you have are good by
start~run~sfc /scannow with your 2K install CD in the drive.

Then in device manager, remove any mouse entries, reboot, and let the system detect the mouse and make it install the drivers.

If that doesn't fix you up, then maybe a problem with the PS2 port itself. If that's the case, post back and I'll move this to the hardware section for you.
