    Hi,
I just upgrade my pc with new mobo and processor. New mobo is Intel D845WN,
processor Intel P4 1.8A and BIOS from AMI.

Before upgrading, during POST there is a display showing BIOS manufacturer
and its version, Keyboard, mouse, USB, amount of RAM detected. Also the list
    of hard drives and CD-ROM (whether it's CD-ROM. CD-R/W, DVD-RAM, and/or DVD+/-ROM) installed.

But now (after upgrading), there is no information displayed during POST about the installed hard drives and CD-ROM. I open the BIOS setup and found
nothing about how to display the installed hard drives and CD-ROM during POST. I also read the mobo's manual book and visited Intel's site to find it w/o any result. Is there any way to show these data during POST?

    Thanks.

Hi Firda- Try to find out how to enter the CMOS setup program. It would involve pressing a key(s) such as F2, Del or some combination to reach setup. When you are in the setup program, look for an option to show the "boot menu diagnostic screen" or something similar and set it to "enable ". That should do it. Good luck. Clydeo22

    Steve R Jones,
There is only two options on the BIOS or CMOS setup regarding the messages displayed during POST, i.e.:
    1. QUIET BOOT.
I choose disabled to display normal POST messages. If choosing Enabled, then POST will
dsiplay OEM logo instead of POST messages.
    2. INTEL Rapid BIOS Boot.
I choose Disabled to allow BIOS performs certain tests while booting. But it only test the
RAM. Installed HDs and CD-ROM still not displayed while booting.
I think this specific Intel mobo is not displaying installed HDs and CD-ROM drives during POST. So, I will Enabled QUIET BOOT to display OEM logo while booting. This will make me feel more comfortable by pressing my curiosity.
    Clydeo22,
I follow your guidance. I should press F2 key. The result is as above.

    Btw, thanks for the help.

    Cheers,

    Yasmin

If it shows an OEM (logo) screen press the ESC key. That should allow you to see the conifuration information. You could then press the Pause/Break key to see the screens one at a time (press Enter to go to the next screen).

PS you may have to be very quick, depending on the speed of you system.
