For whatever reason my winddows stopped remembering my folder views. I have a few folders that have several files in it and they are much easier to read when I list them instead of using the large icon viewing format. Windows use to remember this setting as well as the sorting (by Type) that I used to use.
Now any time I open any folder it is always displayed with large icons and sorted by Name. I have checked the folder options to make sure " Remember folder views" is checked and it is.
    Any other suggestions ?

    Thanks Again,
    KT

    Hi ktthomas

Start>settings>folder options. Click on the View tab. Make sure there is a check by 'Remember each folder's view settings'.

After setting up one folder's view the way you want it, go to Tools>Folder Options>View tab and click on the "Apply to all folders" button and see if that solves the problem.

Windows has a way of resetting the folder view back to the default after going through a Windows update session so don't be surprised if you have to do it again sometime.

Have a look at this registry key:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

Is there an entry called "NoSaveSettings "?

If so, and it has a value of 1 then changes made during a session will not be 'remembered'.

With no entry or a value of 0 then changes made during a session will be 'remembered'.

If you haven't got such an entry then I'm on the wrong tack.
