    Which version of windows are you using? This is important to get the correct fix.
    Umm, how does Windows Explorer use a webcam? I would think Internet Explorer may use it with an ActiveX control.

    you have ...

    Hi assw04992,

    I'm going to assume your OS is winxp since this post was redirected from there.

    It looks like you got yourself into a pickle. I went to the Opus site to check out the program and it looks like this software has the potential to change any number of windows policies, options settings and associations. Did this thing come with some uninstall instructions? Normally when you have a program like this you must restore as many of the associations and default behaviors back to original windows as you can before the unistall.

    All I can suggest, at this point is that you try a restore back to a "system restore point" prior to the installation of the program. This may correct enough of the registry that links and files will act as expected.

    For additional and in depth nfo on this tool, use your own winxp Startbutton> "Help and Support ">category= "Fixing a problem "> "Using system restore" is one of the last subjects in the list. This has lots of reading material and a handy link to the "restore wizard ".

    =======
    Not knowing how much of your links or apps are crippled at this time, you may also wish to give these reg patches a try:

    exe fix: restores default association for executible:

    Link fix:
    http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/linkfilerestore.reg

    =======
    Another thought is to reinstall the opus program and after restoring as much of the options and settings back to winxp and unassociating as many of the extensions as possible, then try for a clean unistall. Making sure nothing is running in the background that may interfer with this.

    Could also drop by the support site and phone or email them and get their instructions on how to return the operation of your computer back to XP. They also have a public board, such as this one but you have to register to use it. Someone on their board may be able to help. I bet your situation must have come up a time or two (hundred :D).

    ==========
    If the reg patches or the system restore do not pan out and you opted for either of the other of the suggestions and they also didn't help. Give a shout and further suggestions can be made.

    ====
    I just had an after thought! If you have tweakui installed perhaps some of the fixes it can do will help. I don't have XP's version installed right now so I can't really give you any perticulars but I thought this just might be worth mentioning.
