    :) Hi!
I have been trying to help a friend with her monitor and so far we haven't gotten anywhere with it. She turned it on one day and the display on it was huge, so big in fact she says she can't do anything with it. I've told her to try right clicking mouse, that didn't work, everything is so big. Had her boot up using F2 trying to get her in safe mode to change the settings and she says it did not work, just kept booting up. By the way, she is running win 98. I have no idea what type or brand of monitor, or pc she has.
If she uses a start up disk, will this boot up her pc with factory settings so she can change the display properties?
    Any ideas?
    thanks

Hi slp- I think the key you are looking for is F5 to get directly to Safe Mode. Failing that, depress the F8 key while booting and you will get a startup menu that you can also use to initiate a Safe mode boot. Have her try to change her resolution size in Display properties and see if that works. If the option to change the size isn't there, you may have to reload the video drivers. Post back if you need a hand and I'm sure you'll find someone to assist. Hope this helps. Clydeo22.
Edit: I should have mentioned that some older games will do this in order to optimize their display. Out.

thank you for your reply. I'm going to forward it to her, and we'll see what happens. She is picking up her em at the library so it may be a day or two (or sometimes more) before I know what happens. I'll be sure to let you know!
    thanks again!:D slp
