Recently I updated my W98 via MS Crit.Updates, since when I 've noticed that on a number of sites, some (but not all) the pages are pictorially incomplete eg with the main title not colour-filled, and areas of blocked colour (on other site pages) unfilled. Also, on my on-line banking sites, sub-choices of facilities - which normally appear as tables - appear as simple lists. Occasionally, the date will be 1 or 2 weeks old! Functionally, everything works, and my personal data is up-to-date. Does this phenomenon strike a chord anywhere?

Hi beej- Try going to the Internet Options applet in Control Panel. Open it and on the General tab, go to Temporary Internet Files and click the Settings box. Make sure that check for the latest page is set to "every visit to the page" or "automatically ". Hope this helps. Clydeo22

Also in Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options>General tab and click on the "Delete Files" button, check the box to delete all offline content and click OK.

If the browser's cache is large, the chances a file or two within it is corrupted (been hanging around a long time). Corrupted files in the cache can cause all sorts of strange and not-so-wonderful things to happen.

Thanks to clydeo22 and Miz. Tried both those suggestions without success. Doesn't cause a problem, but it's really annoying - although the date is now correct! The problem seems to focus around tabular details (on all pages) plus main titles (on the worst pages). Anything else I can try?
