I recently discovered that when I right-click any folder on the Start Menu and choose 'Open', 'Open All Users', 'Explore' or 'Explore All Users' nothing happens. These context menu items are not grayed out and were working before. I haven't made any big system changes and suspect some registry corruption could be the culprit. System is Windows XP Home w/SP1. Can anyone help?

I finally found the culprit as a pair of entries under HKCR\Folder\shellex \ContextMenuHandlers created by Brad Smith's SFV and MD5 software. I'm back to good working order now and I'll try to drop a line to Mr. Smith to tell him of the problems I had after installing his programs (BTW, they really are cool other than the broken context menu issue).

A big thanks to Matthew Arciniega, mcse, mcsa, ccna

for his help in finding the answer to this problem!
