    Hi,

Last time I rebooted (XP home) because I noticed there were about half a dozen instances of csrss.exe running. Now it's been 5 days since then and there are 3 of these. Of course when I first come up there's only one. Then another added in a day or two ago, and today a third.

These processes won't delete. Any ideas on how I can get to the bottom of it?

BTW when I last rebooted the system had gotten sluggish which is when I went into process mgr and noticed what I guess was the trouble.

    Marty

"Windows NT4//2000/XP only. CSRSS is the Client Server Runtime SubSystem. CSRSS is started by SMSS. When the user application makes a Win32 API call, it is usually CSRSS which communicates with the operating system’s Kernel to execute the API call. CSRSS is also known as the Win32 Subsystem.

    Recommendation :
An integral part of the operating system, leave alone. "

It's not leaving me alone.... seems to be the problem I'm having.
