I have video but no audio when I try to watch online music videos-such as launch-yahoo.com or lycos.
I can play the dvd player, my music cd's and downloads, which means my speakers are plugged in, and the volume is turned up on the speakers and all the obvious things. can anyone suggest anything?

    Hiya

Are you using WMP or RealPlayer to view?

Check the volumes. Rightclick on the speaker icon near the clock and choose Open Volume Controls. Options | Properties. Make sure all boxes have been ticked, then press OK.

Are any of the volumes muted, or lowered? If so, unmute or increase the volume.

    Regards

I found out that the launch-yahoo site uses Windows Media Player, and that you need at least WMP 6.4.

I tried out a launch-yahoo music video and first I got a "Media Player Setup" screen, then I got a "downloading codec" message and was asked to install Direct Show Windows Media Video 8 Decoder (said Yes) then I got the video screen (had to switch the download speed from 300k to 56k).

Try http://launch.yahoo.com/artist/default.asp?artistID=1007610 (Doors - Break on through) since that one worked for me.

Here is the help page: http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/launch/videos/

http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/launch/videos/videos-01.html (system requirements mention at least WMP 6.4, 64mb ram, PII 233)

    http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/launch/videos/videos-25.html (audio problems)

There is a feedback link at the bottom of the page if that's not enough information.
