Turned on machine, got the blue screen from hell. Technical information:
*** STOP: 0X000001B (OX FA2E3640....) A problem has been detected and Win will shut down...check for viruses on your computer....Remove any newly installed hard drives & controllers...run chkdsk/f

Well guess what? It won't boot into safe mode; it won't boot into last configuration. Tried to use CD Driver Diagnostic Tools disk and it won't boot.

Any other way around this? Or should I remove the hard drive and take it into the shop?

The reason it crashed: Last night I installed Dreamweaver 3!!! what an idiot I am. (this happened before when I installed Bitdefender and luckily it recovered).

    Hello Sal,

Can you boot into XP with your installation disc?

You should be able to get into the BIOS to change the boot sequence from HD to CD. Hit the Delete key, may be different on your system.

    Regards Charles

When you turn it on, what exactly does it do? Do you get any of the usual screens, or does it automatically go into a BSOD? Can you get it to the Win XP splash screen? (past the BIOS screen?)
