Clicking on BAT files

I have several batch files that I can run from the command line but I would like to create a shortcut for my wife to be able to do things such as backup group of data files to a zip disk etc.

However, when I click on the bat file shortcut it loads my text editor. What's up?

"mflynn" deserves the credit for this one. It was one of those posts with a different "twist ", a kinda' "hmmmm" thing, that sticks in ones head for some reason.

I tend to retain the odd alternative ways for getting something done. The ones that fall in the category of "may not be the recommended way, may not be the best way, but it's my way" kind of thing.
