I can change the Monitor power save Microsoft install default from 20 minutes to never or whatever, logged in an Administrator or as a member of the Admin group. But how to make this setting for all users who login? For users who generally are the only login I can temporarily move them to the Admin group and change the power settings under their login, then remove them back to a restricted user. But for multiple users this is not practical.
The same applies for Turn Off Hard Disks which I would rather not leave as "never" for machines that are often left running 24/7

    Sorry Newt,
All the PC's are connected to a WAN at login.

Pass reg edits to the PCs at user logon to set things like you want them.

For instance, the default behavior is to have the monitor not turn off while waiting at a logon screen. To change that so it will, you need:

    In HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop

    PowerOffActive set to 1

    ScreenSaveActive set 1

    SCRNSAVE.EXE set to (None)

    In HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\PowerCfg

    CurrentPowerPolicy set to 0

    Thanks Newt,
We are currently having a look at these settings you suggest.

    Cheers,

    Paul
