I understand Win XP has a backup utility or program albeit cleverly hidden. Does anyone know where I can find it? I went to help and a search but to no avail. I would like to backup selected and changed files to a CD regularly.
    Thank you

XP backup does not recognise optical drives - a workaround is to install InCD or equivalent - format the CD which backup will then recognise as a disk. I had limited success with this.

Alternative is to backup to HD and copy to Cd from there- bit tedious.

Thank you both for your quick accurate replies. It sounds like more work than good. I presently use "Backup My PC" by Stomp software (formerly Veritas). It works pretty well, but is a little quirky. I do backup changed files everyday with it. I just thought WIN backup might be more "standard ". Huh, think again.
I also backup about once a week all of my data files to a second hard drive, but worry if I have a power surge or something both my drives will fry leaving me with nothing.
    Thank you again

Might be worth taking a look at Karen's Replicator - I use this for auto backup 2 x a day to a separate HD as part of my backup regime - freeware BTW.

Not sure if it backs up to Cd, but would suit you fine for autobackup to your second HD.
