I've been having problems with IE6 crashing when it loads a page and haven't found any answers to the problem. So I went back to IE5.5 following MS instructions. Everything seemed ok except the Outlook 2000 would not open saying there was an OLE error.

It appears that IE went back to ver 5.5, but Outlook did not. I reloaded IE6 and Outlook works ok, but still get occasional crashes when a HTML pages loads in either Outlook preview screen or IE.

I sure would like to go back to IE5.5, but I need the Outlook 2000 functions for my business.

    Any Ideas?

I use Outlook 2000 with IE 5.5 and have had no problems. On the other hand I also run some machines with IE6 and Outlook 2K and have no problems with those either.

Maybe after going back to IE5.5 you could run the repair feature in Outlook2K.

What OS are you using? Use mainly Windows 98 here.

    This machine is using ME,

I'm not having any problems with Outlook2K in IE6 and didn't have any with Outlook2K in IE5.5 before I upgraded to IE6.

IE6 locks up the system every once in a while when it is loading a page and I have to boot to clear the problem. In any case I went back to IE5.5 and Outlook 2K failed on startup. The only way I could get Outlook2K to work was to reload IE6.

I would like to go back to IE5.5, but don't know how to get Outlook 2K back

Try running the repair feature in Outlook 2K.... got to the control panel then add/remove programs and double click on Outlook 2K (Office 2K if it's part of that package) and choose the repair option.

Or you could run the repair option in IE6 to try and fix the problems there.
