I'm playing around with Open Office 1.1 (www.openoffice.org). It's free and works. It's bi-directional compatible with MS Office. It seems OK for light users.

Actually, OO will stand up to heavy use, has more features than the MS competitors, and it's FREE. It takes some getting used to- because we all know the "older" versions of Office Products, but Open Office can replace MS Office without losing any function. OO has the ability to open many more file types, and it compatible with all MS products- in fact, I use it on this comp as the default editor despite having MS Office anyway. Oh, and did I mention, it's FREE? I think Open Office has been a well kept secret. I've been satisfied with it for 2 years now.

Yeah I used Open Office under Linux on my other PC then I tried it for Windows and personally I would rather use it then any MS office suite. I guess that for my needs it's perfect and the price is perfect :D
