I am running an Iomega Zip CD on my Win XP Home Ed, I can burn CR-Rs OK using Easy CD Creator 5 (no direct CD installed). When I Use a CD-RW I can Read and Write using Win XP explorer, but I cannot eject the CD. Am I missing some thing???

For some reason the CDRW remains locked, I have this problem using NERO InCD. Right click the CD icon and select eject. With Nero I have to right click the InCD icon on the taskbar or the CD icon.

When writing to a CD-RW the drive will be locked by the software (windows or direct CD) this is to prevent you from ejecting the cd in the middle of a write. If you could you could mess up the cd and have to reformat it.

So by ejecting it via the software, it tells windows your done writing to it and it will close out anything it hasen't written (almost like flushing it's cache) and then close the final packets.
