Okay...here's a question for you. Can I remove all of my file extensions in folder options and just start from scratch? I'm finding a lot of problems..guess I have deleted some programs before, so some files don't open. If memory serves me correctly, Netscape will search to find what application to open with......is this correct? I have an awful lot of extensions in folder options. I use 98 OS, and Netscape 7.1. Don't want to do anything until I hear something back. Am I right that Netscape will search and choose what file to use??? Many thanx!

    Hi Luckyfish,

Absolutely not! You will bring your OS crashing to its knees. Messing around with those registered file types can even cause you to have to reformat. You want to be very, very, careful when editing that area.

Netscape uses the Windows file types, unless you specify an application for a file type in the "Helper Applications ". What kind of problem are you having? Is it a Netscape thing, or a Windows thing?
