    Hello, everyone!
I have Win 98 at home, and 2000 at work, so I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask, but anyway........I've gotten used to the one click shut-down for 98 made possible by creating a Desktop shortcut to the command < rundll.exe user.exe, exitwindows > My question is: will this method work on Windows 2000 also? I'd be remiss to go ahead and just try it on someone else's computer, should it foul anything up. Thanks for any advice.............Dave

A very similar method will. The one you posted won't. Take a look Here.

Thanks for the help! The ShowStopper utility works just as I require it to. Now, if I can just figure out why this weird IBM computer at work shuts down for about 15 minutes, and then suddenly comes back to life? The only way to put it to rest seems to shut down, and then power on once again (with the on switch still engaged) until it cycles thru to off. The user's manual is either too sketchy, or perhaps I am simply dense.
BTW.......I see that this post has been moved; have I inadvertently breached some protocol? If so, I apologize. Once again, thanks..Dave
