I would try a repair of Publisher - Help > Detect and Repair. You may need the install CD.

    Hi Newt and Pete

Thanks for replies. I did as you suggested and after a few attempts it worked, but is hit and miss - sometimes it prints then when I try again it gives same error. Will persevere and be patient.

    regards

Joan - if the repair helped some but does not have you completely cured and if the issue is one you really want to go away, maybe an uninstall and a clean reinstall is in order.

If you'll say what OS you are running, there are some additional clean-up things that would be good to do after the uninstall and before you did the reinstall.

For one, the tiny bit of information I was able to get from the link I posted makes it seem that at least one video card can cause problems and there is every chance that others would as well. So at the very least, updated video drivers and a removal and reload of the current video software is probably an excellent idea.
