In Windows XP Home, I just upgraded from outlook express to outlook 2002. My old address book had two groups. I had created a new folder in outlook express address book, and stored some of my contacts in that folder. The upgrade automatically imported one group of contacts into my outlook address book, but not the other. Before the upgrade, I exported my outlook express address book to a CD as a .wab file. How can I import the other group of addresses into outlook?
We are not talking the New York City Telephone book here. I could have typed in the contacts in the time I am spending on this. But I need to learn how to back up and restore my address book. It should be a simple matter of export/import, but I cannot get it to work. What kind of an idiot designed these machines, anway?

I have Outlook XP loaded along with OE6. Never use Outlook at this point but did play with the sort of thing you are asking about.

I did the OE export to a .csv file (comma seperated values) and pointed Outlook to the folder containing that .csv to do an import. A cursory look and it appears everything is there.

I prefer to export to and import from delimited text files when it's an option. Avoids any version issues and seems to do a clean job. And if you ever need to, the things will compress so well with WinZip or WinRAR or similar.

okay, thanks, Newt, that's good info. So if I export the address book as a csv file, I should be able to import it, no problem. I had sort of figured that, since the import options implicitly include csv. Any ideas how I might import a .wab file from a CD?
