Converting from Netscape4.7 to 7.0. Novice needs help.

I have two (2) versions of Netscape (4.7 and 7.0) running on one (1) computer. I have used 4.7 for some time and have many important emails on it.
Problem: Incoming emails seem to be distributed to both versions, which is frustrating. I want ONLY ONE version on this 550hz, 10gig machine.

Any suggestions which way to go, AND how do I retain my 4.7 files which contain important stuff. There must be an easy way to move 4.7 info "lock, stock, and barrel" to version 7.0 IF 7.0 is the way to go.

If you want to start using Netscape 7.0 as the defaul Mail client, then make it your default browser. Here's how:
Open Netscape:

Go to Edit | Preferences | Advanced | System
Under Protocols:
Enable: http: and https:
Under File Types:
Enable: HTML

Go to Edit | Preferences | Navigator
Click on the "Set Default Browser" button

When you installed 7.0, the install should have converted all the 4.7 profile data automatically. If your 7.0 also contains important data, then you want to be cautious in moving Profile data from 4.7, in order not to overwrite what is already in 7.0 files.

Before editing any files, back up both the 4.7 Users folder, and the 7.0 Profiles folder.

In Communicator 4.7:
Export your Address Book as an LDIF file, and then import it into Netscape 7.0 Address Book.

Rename the 4.7 Bookmarks file (bookmark.htm) to bookmarks.html, and copy to the Netscape 7.0 *.slt (salted) folder. See: Profiles Folder Location - Netscape 7.x
Copy Mail files without the SNM extension from the 4.7 Mail folder to 7.0 Mail Account folder.
Caution: they will replace any existing files in the 7.0 mail account folder. You may first want to rename the Communicator 4.7 Mail files, e.g., change Inbox to OldInbox, etc. The renamed files will appear in the Netscape 7.0 Mail. This will ensure that you lose no existing mail.
