window me registy errors

upon start up the following errors occur and the start button freezes up:
1. loading your settings failed(the configuration registry key is invalid)
2. mouseware unable to continue(mouseware registry access error)

how long has it beed since the first startup problem or error ?
can you get into windows ?
Ok I lied three ?
do you have a startup disk made if you cant get into windows ?

start the PC with the startup disk in

A Windows Startup Menu screen appears.
Select mimimul boot and press Enter.
At the prompt, type: C:\
At the next prompt, type: cd Windows\command
At the next prompt, type: scanreg /restore
A list of previous restore points will appear. The dates of the
restore points are listed to the left. Select the desired restore
point to highlight it.

If there are no restore points listed, exit
the Scanreg utility and at the C;\ type
scanreg /fix.
Click Restore. Click Restart.

(there needs to be a one space between scanreg and / )
