    Hi,

I have been using a PIII 1 gig on a CUSL2-C for several years now.

I use it to record Audio to my computer through an Echo Layla 24/96 and Yamaha SW1000XG sound card setup.

My only limitation is the 512 megs RAM limit.

Is there any tweak or BOIS upgrade path that will allow a greater amount of RAM to be recognized?

This thing works so flawlessly I hate to brave a MoBo/CPU upgrade.

    dbm:)

Rather doubt it - checked my CUSL2-C manual and it is quite definitve on that point.

Suggest you visit the Asus site and check out the later BIOS versions.

I had an Abit motherboard that clearly stated in the manual that max memory was 128MB. I plugged in a 256 along with the 128 that was in it and it worked fine at 384 for a very long time. At one time I had 512 in it for awhile.

I think what happened was the board (and manual) was manufactured before the 256Meg memory sticks were manufactured but the motherboard handled it fine. It's possible your motherboard will take more. You might give it a try. If the voltage for the memory is the same I don't think you would encounter any harm to the memory stick. You might check this out further but there is a chance for more memory.

    Thanks both of you,

I think I will brave it through, till I can afford a new box from the ground up. While keeping this one active.
