When finally able to restore the registry, I noticed there were just 3 days, is that all or is there a switch to increase the option. Thanks Cyn

By default there should be 5. You can increase (or decrease) the number by editing scanreg.ini. It's located in your windows folder. Open it in notepad and look for a line that says MaxBackupCopies=3. Change the 3 to a 5 or a higher number if you want. Whether or not you want more than 5 is up to you. Some say it's needless, others want more. It's a matter of endless debate. Also, if you keep more (and if memory serves me correctly) scanreg/ restore will only show 5 or 6 (don't remember which) and they won't necessarily be the newest ones. When I used 98 I kept more than the default but I had a batch file to use that would show them all. I could maybe find the web page where I got it. The other alternative would be to restore them manually using the extract command in dos.

Hi cynindesign- You can increase the number of backups by editing your C:\Windows\scanreg.ini file. Find it and open it. It should open in Notepad. Find the max. backups line and edit it to the desired value. Hope this helps, Clydeo22. P.S>When you do try to restore your registry, only the five most recent backups will be shown. The registry backups are stored in the Windows\Sysbckup folder.
