I am new to Outlook Express and still exploring some of the highways and byways.

Two questions that the Help menu doesn't cover:

How do I put an unsent email into the Drafts folder?
It won't drag and drop and there is no button on the Tool bar.
I can copy into it but that's all, is it?

How do I print an unsent email?
In File the Print command is greyed out.
It seems commonsensical to me that it would be useful to print a Draft before sending so one's boss could read it. But that's just me.

If memory serves, Netscape handles both of these functions in a reasonable way.

In the New Message window - File > Copy to Folder
Open folder > Highlight message > Right click on it > Print

Another way to save to "drafts" folder:

File>Save will save a new message to the drafts folder. At least it does in OE 5.5.

    Thanks Pete and John.

So I was right ... you can only copy to the Drafts folder not move the message. No problem.

I have tried printing by highlighting the message and going to File -> Print but the Print command line was greyed out and there is no printer icon visible.

I also noticed that the highlighting is in black and not blue. Is there a problem here?

Not at home with OE so can't test but for me, if I simply close an email I'm composing, it automatically goes to draft. Same with Outlook.

For printing, if you have the printer icon on the OE toolbar you should be able to open the email, click the printer icon, and have it print. I think you can do the same with a closed email by simply highlighting the line and clicking print.

Mine is the same as yours. Right off hand I can't find any way to print the message. You could copy and paste it into wordpad and print it from there. Another option would be to email a copy to yourself and then print it.

Seems you cannot print from the Draft folder so you will need to Send the message to the Outbox.

You will need to go Tools > Options > Send and uncheck 'Send Messages Immediately' so that a Sent message goes first to the Outbox and is Sent only when you hit Send and Receive.

It seems we have consensus here ... you can't Print from the Drafts folder without a work around.

    Is that dumb, or what?

    Thanks for all your comments:)
